Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Moonshine Distillery Inc., doing business as Azul, handles personal information when you visit our website, use Azul, or communicate with us.
Effective and last updated: August 11, 2026
Who is responsible for your information
Moonshine Distillery Inc., doing business as Azul, is responsible for personal information collected through this website and through Azul where we decide why and how it is used. Contact us at team@usemoonshine.com.
When an Azul customer uses the service to record, explain, or review a decision, that customer generally decides why the related personal information is processed. In that context, the customer is the controller or business and Azul acts as its processor or service provider. Requests about a specific decision should first be directed to the organization that made it.
Information we collect
- Account and contact information: name, work email, organization, role, and communications with us.
- Mobile number: the phone number a customer supplies for a recipient, used only to send a one-time verification code when the recipient consents to receive it.
- Authentication and security information: sign-in events, session identifiers, trusted-device choices, IP address, device and browser information, and security logs.
- Service content: decision records, evidence, explanations, review materials, contest submissions, configuration, and other content supplied by customers or authorized users.
- Audio, visual, and activity evidence: camera, microphone, screen, and material-view events when an authorized customer configures a review to collect them and the review page discloses that collection before it begins.
- Usage and preference information: product interactions, interface settings, and—only if you allow analytics—website usage information.
- Commercial information: plan, transaction, and customer-support details associated with an organization.
We collect information from you, your organization, people authorized by your organization, the systems connected to Azul, and service providers that support authentication, hosting, security, and communications.
Why we use information
- Provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot Azul.
- Authenticate users and prevent fraud or misuse.
- Process decision evidence and workflow instructions on a customer's behalf.
- Respond to questions, requests, and support messages.
- Improve the service and website, including through optional analytics when consent is required.
- Meet legal obligations, enforce agreements, and protect people, Azul, and our customers.
Depending on where you live and the context, our legal bases include performing a contract, taking requested pre-contract steps, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Azul, compliance with law, and consent. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Text messages
When a recipient consents on the verification page, Azul sends a one-time passcode by SMS. The mobile number is used only to send that code and confirm identity before a decision is shown.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile numbers may be disclosed only to the communications providers that transmit the message on our behalf, under contractual restrictions, and where required by law.
Consent to text messages is never required. Email verification is available instead, and consent can be withdrawn by replying STOP.
Retention and security
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, the customer's instructions, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security. The period depends on the type of information, account status, contract terms, sensitivity, and applicable limitation periods. We then delete or de-identify it, unless law requires longer retention.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Please report a suspected security issue to team@usemoonshine.com.
International use
Azul and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ. Where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards and provide information about them on request.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection; to withdraw consent; to opt out of certain uses; and to appeal a denied request. You may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right.
Email team@usemoonshine.com with the subject “Privacy request.” We will verify your identity and respond within the period required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted. If we process information only for a customer, we will direct the request to that customer or assist it as required.
You may lodge a complaint with your local privacy or data-protection authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the concern.
